A 15-year-old girl of Amolapatty area in Dibrugarh allegedly shot herself with a pistol and was admitted to the Assam Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition. The victim’s father runs an authorised arms shop named ‘DKB Gun House’ from his residence at Guard Quarter, Amolapatty area. The incident took place at around 12.30pm on Friday. It is learnt that she picked up a pistol from her father’s shop and allegedly shot herself just above the chin.
“The girl was brought to the casualty department of the AMCH at around 12.45pm. IShe shot herself with a pistol in the fronto-temporal region which is just above the chin. She is under ventilation at the surgery ICU of the anesthesia department. Her condition is quite serious. We are not sure whether the bullet is still lodged inside. We are proceeding with the medical investigations very carefully considering her serious condition,” the AMCH superintendent said.
