In a good news for the people of upper Assam, the 2-lane Dibrugarh Bypass will be converted into a 4-lane highway by the NHIDCL. An amount of Rs 215.27 crore has been sanctioned for the 4-lane conversion of the existing 24.6-km road from Lepetkata to Kandulibari Grant Gaon in the Dibrugarh-Lahowal – Chabua bypass section. Similarly the 19.73-km section from Kandulibari Grant Gaon to Nalalanihulla section will also be converted into a 4-lane highway with an outlay of Rs 170.95 crore. NHIDCL sources said that the bidding for the two packages will carried out soon.
