In wake of the grim flood situation in the state, the E&NF Railway Cooperative Bank Ltd & NF Railway Mazdoor Union on June 28 organised a flood relief programme at Chaparmukh area of Nagaon district. During the recent wave of flood many employees and workers of various railway divisions mostly under Lumding division under NF Railway has been severely affected by the flood. In order to provide succour to the flood affected people a relief team led by E & N F Railway Cooperative Bank Limited’s SSWF Trustee Board vice chairman and NF Railway Mazdoor Union’s Maligaon Branch joint secretary Pankaj Kalita and director Montu Sarma and a team of NF Railway Railway Mazdoor Union Maligaon Branch left by train for Chaparmukh carrying 2,000 litres of drinking water and other essential items from the Kamakhya Railway Station. The team after reaching Chaparmukh distributed the relief materials to around 200 families at their homes.
