Charitable organisation JCI Dibrugarh Royals celebrated “Prayas Day” in Dibrugarh on Saturday to spread awareness on menstrual hygiene.  

On this occasion a walkathon was organised from Adarsh Primary School located on PN Road to Shree Gopal Gaushala, Chiring Chapori.

Speaking on the occasion, Radhika Gupta, President, JCI Dibrugarh Royals, said that menstruation or periods is still a taboo in the society and even today most women hesitate to talk about it openly. There is still a lack of information and awareness among women about period hygiene, she said. 

Dolly Barua, winner of Mrs Brahmaputra Diva-2021 was present on the occasion as the special guest. She applauded JCI’s efforts for spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and appealed to women from all sections of the society to extend their support to the cause.

School teachers, students along with women and members of JCI Dibrugarh Pride, Dibrugarh Ladies Club, Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan also participated in the walkathon.
