Four Ministers from Northeast India have been inducted into prime minister Modi’s Union Cabinet.

The ministers are Sarbananda Sonowal from Assam, Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh from Manipur, and Pratima Bhoumik from Tripura.

The Narendra Modi government underwent a significant overhaul on Wednesday evening with tens of leaders taking oath as new ministers of the Modi government. These leaders included several former chief ministers.

Ahead of the cabinet overhaul, several Union ministers including Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar resigned.
