Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh district Biswajit Pegu on Wednesday had an interaction with the journalist fraternity of Dibrugarh town. During his interaction he said that his priority will be to expedite the developmental works of Dibrugarh district.
The 2009 batch IAS had previously served as Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner before being transferred to Dibrugarh. Earlier he had also served as DC of Nagaon district and DC of Bongaigaon district.
Pegu who belongs to Dhemaji district did his HS in Arts stream from Cotton University (then Cotton College). He went on to pursue graduation in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi and post graduation in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Pegu has also done M Phil in International Politics with major in International Relations from JNU.
