Bringing all Gaushalas of the North-East under a single platform, the Northeast Gaushala Federation was given a formal form in a meeting organized by the Guwahati Gaushala on January 8, 2023. The organization which was needed for the last many years for all the Gaushalas of the North-East finally got a proper platform. During the meet the difficulties faced in the field of service to the cows which were almost the same for every Gaushalas, were discussed.

Dibrugarh-based Shree Gopal Gaushala was represented by Joint Secretary Vinod Agarwal, Cultural Secretary Shailesh Jain and Executive Member Rajesh Goenka under the leadership of Vice President Lakhi Jajodia. Office bearers of Gaushalas from many cities of North East took part in the meeting. Along with them, Union Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Umesh Paudwal, Shankarlal of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Cow Protection Department, Ahmedabad also participated in the high level meeting.

In this meeting, a high-level Northeast Gaushala Federation was formed by discussing all the issues related to cow service. Guwahati’s well-known social worker Kailash Lohia was appointed as President, Jaiprakash Goenka as Executive President and Krishna Kumar Jalan as Secretary. Along with them, the incumbent presidents and secretaries of all the Gaushalas of the North-East were nominated as executive members.

In the meeting, discussions were held on various schemes being run by the government for the promotion of cows, apart from burning problems like eviction of grazing lands of cow shelters, unnecessary economic burden due to cows seized from cow smugglers by the government and kept in cow shelters.

Talking to RVTV, the office bearers of the newly formed federation said that the with the formation of the Northeast Gaushala Federation there will be a revolutionary change in the field of cow service.
