Amid growing public anger after the unfortunate death of animal rights activist Vineet Bagaria, the Officer-in-Charge of Dibrugarh Police Station Bularam Terong was transferred on Monday. He has been replaced by Raju Chetri who will be the new OC. There were allegation of police inaction against some antisocial elements which led to Vineet Bagaria deciding to end his life. On Sunday thousands of citizens had taken out a rally in the towm seeking justice for Vineet Bagaria. A day before Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while visiting the Bagaria family had promised stern action against those responsible for the unfortunate incident.
