Union minister of ports, shipping & waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday reviewed various projects that are being implemented to prevent land erosion and to check floods in the Bindhakota-Mulukgaon areas of Dibrugarh district. The concerned authorities and officials appraised the union minister about various projects being undertaken around embankment and other measures taken to prevent flooding and land erosion in the region.
People from Halgaon in Bindhakota, Tengabari ghat, Pukhurijaan Raidaang near Dinjaan Army camp and around Bindhakota Bor Naamghar have been facing floods during the rainy seasons. The government has been working on several projects to control and prevent flooding. The union minister after reviewing the work and progress of various flood controlling measures asked concerned officials and departments to work swiftly and decisively towards complete solution against flooding in the area.
