Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College on Saturday hosted a Career Progression and Employability programme at the college campus under the initiative of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) in collaboration International and Industrial Relations, DHSK College.
The programme was compered by Sunanda Sahu, Professor in-charge, International Relations. Jayanta Baruah, Honorary Secretary, NIPM and Chief Manager (HR), BCPL, Dibrugarh in his welcome address said that the programme was part of an effort of NIPM towards increasing employability skills of students and getting them ready for the job market. Pranjal Bezbaruah, Chairman, NIPM (Assam Chapter) in his speech said that believing in oneself in the first thing to make oneself employable. He advised the students to always think big to be successful in life. BP Bakshi, Adviser, NIPM, Assam Chapter and Chairman, Assam Productivity Council (APC) encouraged the students to be successful in life by following three things – patience, perseverance and sustainability. Asit Das, General Manager (HR), BCPL and Vice Chairman, NIPM, Assam Chapter who was the keynote speaker urged the students to learn skills such as critical thinking, perseverance and problem solving. He mentioned that the students do not get the opportunity to learn them during their formal education, but these are the skills which can lead them towards a successful career.
More than 100 students joined the programme and participated in a lively interactive programme.
