Dibrugarh DC Biswajit Pegu on Friday visited the waterlogged areas of the town wading through knee-deep water. He directed officials to take immediate preventive measures. Earlier a heavy spell of overnight rain left Dibrugarh town severely waterlogged on Friday disrupting normal lives of the citizens. The heavy downpour choked the drains and inundated several areas including major roads of the town. All 22 municipal wards of the town were affected by the flash flood in some proportion. The heavy downpour inundated the Dibrugarh police reserve, Thana Chariali, several government offices as well as campuses of several schools, colleges and hostels.
