Noted animal rights activist and co-founder of Animal Welfare People (AWP) Vineet Bagaria died at his Dibrugarh residence on the Shani Mandir road on Thursday afternoon. An immensely popular person known for taking care of abandoned and stray animals, his death has been alleged to be as a result of “abetment of suicide”.
Vineet’s father Kailash Kumar Bagaria has already filed an FIR at the Dibrugarh Police Station against three persons namely Baidullah Khan of Boiragimoth, Sanjay Sharma of Radhakrishna Mandir Jhalukpara and Nishant Sharma of Seujpur, Dibrugarh holding them responsible for his son’s death.
Sources said that for last several years there has been a clash going on between Vineet’s family and Baidullah Khan. Vineet’s father is said to have given a space to Sanjay Sarma to run a business but he had sub-let the space to Baidullah Khan who opened a motorcycle spare parts shop. When asked to vacate the property the trio has been indulging in physical and mental torture leading to the unfortunate step taken by Vineet, his father alleged.
Now all eyes are on the police how they handle the case as public anger has been growing after the shocking death of the 30-year-old animal lover who was often seen on the streets of Dibrugarh feeding stray dogs and taking care of animals.
