In a significant development over 100 people from Dhemaji district joined the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in presence of TMC leader and former India cricketer Kirti Azad in a progamme held at Dhemaji town on Saturday. The newly joined members belonged to various political parties.
Welcoming the new members Azad said that the TMC is emerging as an alternative to the Congress and other opposition political parties in Assam.
Azad who was accompanied by Assam TMC leader Chandan Mazumder expressed confidence that the party will show good performance in the state.
