Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate a foot overbridge with escalator facility on the NH-37 on January 30, that will connect the two campuses of Dibrugarh University. The foundation stone of the project was laid by the CM himself on October 1, 2021. It has been constructed under the State Owned Priority Development (SOPD-G)
program against a proposed budget of Rs 621.84 lakh. The state government also sanctioned an additional fund of Rs 3 crore to provide escalator facility for the bridge.
The foot overbridge, over NH-37, will connect the two campuses of Dibrugarh University and also the first such foot overbridge to come up in Dibrugarh. It will ease traffic congestion on NH-37 in front of the university.
