In a bid to improve air connectivity among the north eastern states, FlyBig airlines on Thursday began a direct flight service between Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, and Tezu in Arunachal Pradeshunder the Government of India’s Regional Connectivity Scheme -UDAN. The inaugural function was attended by Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu through video link. 


Tezu is known for its natural beauty and boasts picturesque valleys, lakes, and wildlife. The new flight service is expected to boost tourism in the region.The frequency will be four flights per week on the Tezu – Guwahati route. 


FlyBig’s ATR-72 aircraft will now fly on the Guwahati – Tezu route on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The launch fares start from Rs 1,199. Flight S9 201 will leave Guwahati at 8.25hrs and will reach Tezu at 9.35hrs whileFlight S9 221 will depart Tezu at 9.55 hrs for Guwahati.
