Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated 7 state of the art cancer hospitals at Dibrugarh, Barpeta, Tezpur, Jorhat, Darrang, Kokrajhar & Lakhimpur.
He also laid foundation stone for 7 more cancer hospitals at Goalpara, Dhubri, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sibsagar, Tinsukia & Nalbari.
Total 17 cancer hospitals are being built in Assam with the joint initiative of Assam Care Care Foundation and Tata Trust with a cost of ₹ 4000 Crores.
Construction of Cancer Care hospitals at Guwahati, Silchar & Diphu is going on.
