Dibrugarh Police led by Bularam Terang, OC Dibrugarh alongwith IC Milan Nagar, Dipankar Bora and TSI apprehended five thieves in connection with Dibrugarh PS Case nos.1990/21, 1958/21 and 1992/21 all u/s 457/380 IPC.
Police has arrested Zakir Hussain (25) of Kalibari, Dibrugarh, Bishnu Karmakar (21) of Chiring Chapari, Dibrugarh, Ajay Nayak (20) of Chiring Chapari, Dibrugarh, Suresh Chouhan (17) of Chiring Chapari, Dibrugarh and a minor involved the theft cases.
Police has also recovered a large quantity of stolen items including Jewellery from their houses.
Police has recovered 17 mobile hand sets, 6 gold necklaces, 2 bracelets, 5 anklets, 2 golden tortoise, 7 gold/silver rings, 42 pairs of bangles, 34 gold coins, old 500 currency notes and many other items. Most of the theft incident took place during puja festival.
Further investigation is on.
