Seeking curb in rise of fuel and other essential commodities, the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) staged a 2-hour long demonstration at Chowkidinghee in Dibrugarh on Friday. The AJP members holding placards and banners raised slogans against the BJP government and demanded rollback of prices.

“We strongly demand the intervention of the government in controlling the skyrocketing price of petrol, diesel and other essential commodities. Petroleum prices are rising every day. Petrol prices have touched Rs 107 while diesel is on the threshold of the century mark. The price of essential commodities too have soared due to the rise in fuel price. The common man is being hit hard and struggling to survive. The BJP came to power promising good days for the people but they have destroyed the middle and lower class by their anti-people policies. Prices need to come down,” AJP Dibrugarh district president Parag Jyoti Baruah said.
