Airport Advisory committee meeting for Dibrugarh Airport was held on 20th June 2022 at 9:30 AM. The meeting was chaired by Rameswar
Teli, Hon’ble MoS for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour and Employment & M.P., Dibrugarh. Distinguished nominated members
Satya Narayan Agarwal, Shri Arun Bagaria, Ujal Kayshap, Jagadish Singh, Sudama Pandey who were nominated to the committee by the Chairperson, participated in the meeting and presented their views about the various passenger facilities, facilitation of Divyangjans and the service level that was
expected from Airport staff. District Administration, State Police as well as representative officials from Dibrugarh Municipality were also present
in the meeting. Senior officials of Airports Authority of India, Dibrugarh
Airport, led by the Airport Director B. M. Kaul presented a wholesome view of the airport, mainly focusing on the passenger
amenities, availability of aviation infrastructure, ongoing development
works as well as the expansion, renovation and modernization projects
underway. Main purpose of the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) is to
make airports user friendly from the point of view of passenger
amenities. Committee aims to enhance the image of Dibrugarh Airport
in terms of service and passenger facilitation. For enhancement of
passenger facilitation some of notable suggestions put forward by the
committee was provision of Money Exchange facility, ATM facility in the
city side of airport, Prepaid Taxi Services, availability of airline’s
passenger coaches facilities in the airside and instructions were given by
the Hon’ble Chairman to all the officials to take measures for introducing
the same. Some of notable infrastructural development works discussed
were extension of Runway of Dibrugarh Airport, Construction of New
Terminal Building, Aprons and associates facilities and construction and
commissioning of new ATC tower cum Technical Block.
