Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday urged Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL) to tap energy from sources other than fossil fuel, besides setting up charging stations in the state in view of the surge in demand for electric vehicles. Attending the diamond jubilee celebration of AGCL at Duliajan the chief minister hailed the role of the state public sector undertaking (PSU) for its contribution towards Assam’s industrialisation in the last 60 years. He praised AGCL in providing natural gas to 42,000 domestic households and 1,200 commercial consumers apart from 420 tea factories.
