Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will confer several awards to eminent personalities during the Bishnu Rabha Divas that will be observed centrally in Dibrugarh on June 20 at the Chowkidinghee Playground.
The State Directorate of Cultural Affairs will confer the Bishnu Rabha awards to two eminent artistes of the state, besides giving away 12 other awards on June 20, the birthday of Kalaguri Bishnu Rabha.
These awards, including three national ones, will go to people who have contributed much to art, culture and literature.
While the Kalicharan Brahma Award, 2021 goes to Dr Anungla Iyer, KK Handique Award-2021 goes to researcher Dr Naren Kalita, Azan Pir Award-2021 to folklorist Dr Amalendu Bhattacharya, Bishnu Rabha Award-2022 to cine artiste Chandrakamal Gogoi and danseuse Sharodi Saikia, Geeti Kobi Parvati Prasad Baruah Award-2021 to cine artiste Mridula Baruah, Amalprabha Das Award-2021 to writer Ela Borgohain, Chandraprabha Saikiani Award-2021 to social activist Lilavati Kushre, Mamoni Raisom Goswami Award-2021 to litterateur Phanindra Kumar Deb Choudhury, Syed Abdul Malik Award-2021 to litterateur Chhabilal Upadhyay, Ahmed Ali Baskandi Ward-2021 to artiste Syed Sadullah, Ganesh Gogoi Award-2021 to poet Bongshi Bora, Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Award-2021 to social activist Hemanta Gohain and Sonit Konwar Gajen Baruah Award-2021 to danseuse Nani Baruah.
