The Srishti Hospitals, a multispeciality hospital located in Paltan Bazar, Dibrugarh has brought brought smiles to scores of childless couple of the north eastern region. The IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) department of the super speciality hospital managed to achieve an astounding 60% success rate in positivity with highest number of patients in a single IVF batch till date. The feat was achieved by Dr Aritra Pradhan and his team. It may be mentioned that in India, the success rate of IVF ranges from 30% to 35%. Globally, the average IVF success rate is around 40% in young women.
IVF is an advanced process of fertilisation by which conceiving a baby has become possible for many childless couples. This is a fertility procedure, where eggs are retrieved from a woman’s ovaries, and those eggs are fertilised with the partner’s sperm in a dish in a specialised laboratory. Once the embryo is formed, it’s then transferred back to the uterus and the implantation process takes place inside the uterus.
