In a big development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday between ‘Yuvraj Singh Foundation’ and Assam Medical College and Hospital(AMCH) to set up 100 bedded pediatric ICU at AMCH. Set up in 1947, AMCH is the oldest medical college of the North East.

A 100 bedded ICU will be provided by ‘Yuvraj Singh Foundation’ in AMCH to boost the critical care during the Covid. The Yuvraj Singh Foundation is a non-profit organisation established by leading Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. The foundation works extensively in the healthcare sector with focous on issues related to cancer.

Yuvraj Singh Foundation’ deals with children cancer but after Covid they have taken an initiative to donate 100 bedded child ICU all over India. They will provide 50 bedded in the first installment and after that another 50 will be provided by the Foundation. Out of 100 bedded pediatric ICU, 20 full fledged ventilator bed and 80 Oxygen generated bed will be set up at children wars of AMCH, said AMCH principal Dr Sanjeeb Kakati.
