Union minister of state for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour & Employment Rameswar Teli on Friday inaugurated a roundabout (circular intersection) near the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) plant at the newly laid 4-laned NH-37 in Barbaruah area.  Reep Hazarika, Managing Director BCPL, Prasanta Phukan, MLA Dibrugarh, Chakradhar Gogoi, MLA Moran, former BJP MLA Rituparna Baruah, Indra Gogoi, chairman AGCL,  Shwetank Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh, senior officials of BCPL and local residents were present during the inauguration.
The design of the roundabout comprises of a pair of Brahmaputra river dolphins engulfing the rings of prosperity and development, resting on the logo of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, symbolizing BCPL’s aspirations to flourish through prosperity and development of the region. The pair of leaves and a bud with a couple of White Winged ducks (Asarcornis Scutulata)-the state bird of Assam, flying across, throws light on the historical significance of the tea city of Dibrugarh, nestled in the southern bank of the Brahmaputra. 
The entire sculpture rests on a boat – the lifeline across the mighty Brahmaputra from ages together uniting Assam’s demography amidst social and cultural diversity. The roundabout was constructed by BCPL at a cost of Rs 17 lakh.
