Union minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Rameswar Teli on Thursday took stock of the functioning of the state-of-the-art solid waste management plant at Lekai Thakurthan area in the outskirts of Dibrugarh town.The minister accompanied by Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan also had a brief meeting with the management of the plant. On August 27, the union minister himself had dedicated the Rs 75.03 crore project to the people of Dibrugarh town. Built on a 28.3-hectare plot of land under the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program (AUIIP), the mega facility had the capacity to convert 100 metric tonnes per day (TPD) of waste into compost.
