Eviction of vendors illegally occupying footpaths in Dibrugarh town were carried out by the Dibrugarh Municipal Board today. The Dibrugarh Municipal Board has provided designated vending zones for the street vendors. A food street (Khao Galli) for street food vendors has also been designated near the Dibrugarh Police Reserve along the Mancotta Road.
The designated vending zones are – 1. RKB Road (UCO Bank to Head Post Office, Rotary Road entry point to opposite of Indsurya Hotel and Cole Road entry point to Hanuman Mandir culvert), 2. Khalihamari Road (Police Reserve entry point to Red Cross Road entry point), 3. Graham Bazar – Paltan Bazar Road (Indian Oil petrol pump to JJ Memorial Hospital), 4. Paltan Bazar – AMCH Road (Apeksha Hospital to Radha Krishna Mandir), 5. AT Road (Jail Road entry point to Graham Bazar Girls’ School).
